The Air Guard AG-800 and AG-1500 are compact, portable, convenient, and highly functional disinfection machines. They spread fog filling entire spaces in any direction and can be used as regular maintenance solutions in any place, such as cars, homes, offices, theatres, department stores, plazas, airports, gymnasiums and hospitals. With the FLD-05 liquid, the AG-800 and AG-1500 can kill most fungi, germs, viruses, dust mites and get rid of bad odours effectively.
Is it effective against coronaviruses such as SARS-CoV-2?
One active ingredient in the FLD-05 liquid is Isopropyl Methylphenol, an isomer of Thymol. Thymol is listed in EPA as a disinfectant for use against SARS-CoV-2 (see here).
However, there are many other factors involved, including but not limited to how often and well you use it, plus risks of catching a virus outside of disinfected areas. So, while the FLD-05 fog can help to limit virus spread, we do not promote this as effective against SARS-CoV-2, and we cannot be held liable for any use based on assumptions.
How does the FLD-05 Disinfectant work?
The FLD-05 disinfectant works by denaturing the virus’ proteins, which makes it incapable of binding to human cells.
It is effective against the influenza virus and general pneumonia. It has not yet been tested against the Covid-19 virus, as it is regulated by the government and no virus samples are available to test.
What is the active ingredient in FLD-05 for sterilisation?
Umbelliferol, which is an effective antibacterial agent approved by the Taiwan Ministry of Health and Welfare. It has good sterilisation ability and can kill a variety of bacteria, yeast, fungi and viruses. It can also inhibit oxidation.
Is the disinfection ingredient harmful to humans?
The ratio of disinfection ingredients used is within the guidelines set by the Taiwan Ministry of Health and Welfare.
FLD-05 has a menthol and fruity fragrance; so, no disturbing smells, either.
How much smoke is required and how long does it take?
It depends on room size and machine model in use. Even the AG-800 can produce one cubic metre of smoke in two to three seconds, while the AG-1500 is much more efficient with its vertical output reaching two metres height.
Once the fog has filled the room, close the space and allow 5 to 10 minutes for the fog to reach all areas in order to disinfect.
How long does the effect last?
It depends on the environmental conditions, such as ventilation and number of human movements.
For example, disinfection in a car for personal use can be effective for two weeks, while frequently used commercial spaces should be disinfected on a daily basis.
In general, the more occupied or frequented a location is, the more often it should be disinfected.
How long can FLD-05 be stored?
FLD-05 has a shelf life of 5 years and should be stored in a cool area out of direct sunlight. Once opened, it should be used within 6 months.

Note: The machines themselves have no sterilisation function. The FLD-05 liquid provides the sterilisation function. The sterilisation provided by smoke machines is completely different from ozone machines or air cleaners.
